Class 2 Overview

Class 2 is our Year 3 and Year 4 class. The class teachers are Mrs Norton and Mrs Hargreaves who work closely with the Class 2 Teaching Assistant, Mrs Taylor. Over the week, Class 2 are also taught by Mrs Lewis, Mrs Cook and Mrs King.

In Class 2, we pride ourselves on being a great team, but we also value individuality. Everyone in our class has a voice; we treat each other as equals and with good manners and respect.   We listen to each other and appreciate that we can learn a lot from each other. We develop resilience with a view to understanding that nobody is perfect – we do not say practice makes perfect – we say practice makes progress. We try to approach all aspects of life with positivity and determination – with a “have-a-go attitude”.

As individuals we aim to recognise and reach our own potential and as a team, we aim to support each other to do this. We want our classroom to be a place where we can all develop and become better versions of ourselves as time goes by.

Throughout Class 2 we develop learning strategies and more independence in preparation for moving into Class 3 and beyond. We love to use our initiative and creativity!

Throughout the week the children study a broad curriculum and have many opportunities to enjoy the wonderful outdoor environment around the school.

Weaving!

For homework, we try to build on our independent learning skills by accessing our online learning platform ‘Doodle’. This gives us chance to practise our skills and consolidate the learning we have done in class in Maths and English. We regularly complete our ‘Talk Homework’ to prepare our ideas for writing at school. In addition to this, we read at home, learn our spellings and use TT Rockstars to learn and practise tables. Spellings and Talk Homeworks are also posted on Google Classrooms.
