Class 3 Overview

In Class 3 we aim to be strong independent learners. We try to be brave and push ourselves to take risks and have a go. We know that if we don’t get something right first time, it shows that we tried something ambitious; and we know that we can learn a lot from our mistakes. We hate time-wasting and we try to always be positive and make the best of things.
In the mornings we focus on maths and literacy. Our other morning subjects are: ICT, French, PSHCE and singing. We also have weekly forest school sessions every other half-term. In the afternoons we enjoy: science, RE, PE, swimming, history and geography.

We have several  homework tasks which we complete in our log books : spelling and SPAG, which are tested on Tuesdays; learning tables and MMMs (maths targets); a weekly maths task, checked on Tuesdays; and daily reading. In addition we have two project homework tasks per half-term, which give us the freedom to be more creative.

Our main class teacher is Mrs Hargreaves, but we are lucky to have lots of teachers specialising in different subjects; we are also taught by Mrs Norton, Mrs Phillips, Mrs Norton-Smith, specialist sports teachers and specialist music teachers.

Two very important members of our team are Mrs Taylor and Miss Whitton. They help us with our learning; give us guidance when we need it; and challenge us to try even harder things.
