Maypole Dancing 2019

Thank you to all of those people who have come out of their way to show us appreciation of our hard work on the dancing!  The children have shone brighter than the sun this week with their talent for dancing and singing…

Each year we like to show the progression of dancing from Reception up to Year 6 – the Reception children create a lovely skip around in a circle around the maypole.  This then progresses to make ‘The Barber’s Pole’ by Year 2, which is a dance where they wrap the ribbons around the pole and make it stripy…  By Year 4, we create the Spider’s Web, and the hardest dance of all is the plait, which involves a lot of good, strong teamwork.
